What is the Safest Technique to Remove Ear Wax?

We use microsuction to safely remove earwax . It is a gentle technique used by our skilled professionals to remove excess earwax using a microscope and a low-pressure suction device.

This method allows for precise and controlled removal, minimising the risk of injury and ensuring thorough cleaning of the ear canal.

*If no earwax is found, you will receive an ear health check and will only be charged a consultation fee of £15!

What Should I Expect After Microsuction?

The microsuction is safe, but you may notice some temporary changes** to your ears, especially if the wax has been building up for some time. These include:

Sensitivity to cold in your ear canal
Greater sensitivity to sounds
Disorientation or dizziness
Throbbing, or a sore feeling in your ear

**Most of these changes will pass within 24 hours as your body adjusts.

The NHS no longer offers free ear wax removal services. Patients are advised to consult with pharmacists for risk free earwax removal.

Can I remove ear wax at home?

Yes, you can remove earwax at home with an ear irrigation kit only if your symptoms are not severe or you don’t feel pain in the ears. However we always advise to see a hearing professional or your GP for advice.

Are next-day appointments available?
